Ceist:

130 Mr. Deenihan asked the Minister for Education if she will sanction a grant for the provision of a general purpose room for Lyrecrompane national school, County Kerry.

I propose taking Questions Nos. 77, 127 and 130 together.

As the Deputy will be aware, it has been my policy since I took office in 1987 to concentrate the available capital resources for national schools on essential classroom accommodation and other necessary facilities. As a consequence substantial progress has been made on the primary schools building programme which would not have been possible if the provision of general purposes rooms had been allowed.

Lyrecrompane national school, County Kerry, has three teachers with accommodation in a three classroomed building provided in 1962.
