Ceist:54 Mr. Carey asked the Minister for Finance if he has any proposals to improve the national monuments under his care in County Clare during 1991; and the amount of money allocated for each project.

It is proposed to commence work on the provision of visitor facilities and to improve access to Scattery Island, Kilrush for which a sum of £220,000 has been provided. It is also hoped to commence the re-roofing of the Abbey on Trinity Island, Inishcealtra at a cost of £50,000.
A systematic programme for ongoing maintenance works at various sites in County Clare will also be undertaken this year.
