Ceist:154 Mr. Callely asked the Minister for Defence if he will outline the new weapons which were purchased in 1988, 1989, and 1990 for our armed forces; and the countries from which they were purchased.

In the interest of security it is not the practice to furnish details regarding the purchase of weapons. In accordance with established practice weapons are purchased by my Department from a number of countries on the basis of competitive tendering. Weapons were purchased from France, England, Switzerland and Austria during the years in question.
