34 Mr. Kavanagh asked the Minister for the Environment if any assessment has been made, in his Department or elsewhere, into the effects of global warming on this country and the way it will affect agricultural developments in years to come; and if he will make a statement on the matter.
The impact of possible climate changes on Irish agriculture has been assessed in a recent Teagasc study commissioned by my Department under the environmental action programme. This study will be published shortly, together with a number of other studies similarly commissioned on sectoral impacts of climatic change in Ireland.
