Ceist:164 Mr. Byrne asked the Minister for Health if he will restore a medical card to persons (details supplied) in Dublin 6 in view of the special circumstances involved; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

The question of determining eligibility for a medical card in individual cases is the responsibility of the chief executive officer of the appropriate health board. I understand that the chief executive officer of the Eastern Health Board has decided to restore the medical card to the persons in question and that the board will communicate with the Deputy concerning this particular case.
