The person concerned applied for old age non-contributory pension and following an investigation of her claim by a social welfare officer it was decided that she was not entitled to a pension as her means, based on the moiety treatment, from farming exceeded the statutory limit.
Representations on her behalf appealing against the decision were received by the independent social welfare appeals office. Following further investigation by the social welfare officer in May 1991, an appeals officer has decided that an oral hearing of the appeal will be necessary and this will be arranged as soon as possible.
