3 Mr. Deasy asked the Taoiseach if he will outline the value of trade between this country and (a) Taiwan and (b) mainland China in the last three years.
I propose to circulate a statement giving the required information.

(a) transactions (non-dutiable) of less than £200;
(b) trade by firms operating in Shannon Free Airport; and
(c) postal packages not covered by Customs entries.
May we have a brief resume of the figures? There are only three sets of figures.
It is very detailed.
The question is essentially statistical and matters relating to policy ought not and will not arise.
May we have a global figure?
The value of imports from Taiwan in 1990 was £90.4 million.
What about China?
The value of imports from China was £50.8 million.
