Ceist:403 Mr. Hogan asked the Minister for the Environment when finance will be sanctioned for the provision of a new bridge at Castlecomer, County Kilkenny; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

Having regard to the limitations on the funds available for the improvement of national secondary roads and the competing demands for these funds, it is not possible at this stage to provide road grants in this case. The question of providing a grant to strengthen the existing bridge will be considered in the context of the road grant allocations for 1992. The local authority have been informed accordingly.
