627 Mr. Howlin asked the Minister for Education when her Department will sanction the application for a career break of a person employed as a school secretary (details supplied) in County Wexford; and if written confirmation of the Department's sanction will be provided for the person concerned.

The granting of a career break for a school secretary is in the first instance a matter for the board of management of the school. The application in question has not been submitted to my Department for approval.
