Charles Flanagan
Ceist:123 Mr. Flanagan asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food the reason for the delay in the payment of a TB reactor grant to a person (details supplied) in County Offaly.
Vol. 411 No. 7
123 Mr. Flanagan asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food the reason for the delay in the payment of a TB reactor grant to a person (details supplied) in County Offaly.
The delay in the payment of a TB reactor grant to the person named was a result of the herd owner not having submitted a cleansing and disinfection certificate to the district veterinary office. This has now been done and payment of the grant will be made within the next few weeks.
124 Mr. Sheehan asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food when a person (details supplied) in County Cork will receive payment of his farm development grant.
Every effort is made to have payments under the farm investment schemes made at the earliest possible date. Claims are, of course, processed strictly in order of receipt and, therefore, the period between receipt of a particular claim and its payment is affected by the overall volume of claims to be processed at the time in question and the position in regard to budgetary resources. Having regard to the level of claims currently on hands, it is likely to be about two months before this payment can be made.
125 Mr. Noonan (Limerick East) asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food if a decision has been made yet on an appeal by a person (details supplied) against a decision on his eligibility for a beef premium grant; if he will be readmitted to the scheme this year; and if he will make a statement on the matter.
The person named applied for grants on animals which were not in his ownership and possession at the time of application. Under EC regulations governing the scheme my Department have no choice but to disallow all 1990 special beef premium and to debar him from the scheme for 12 months from 31 January 1991.
126 Mr. Noonan (Limerick East) asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food if a decision has been made yet on an appeal by a person (details supplied) in County Limerick against a decision on his eligibility for a cow suckler grant; if he will be re-admitted to the scheme this year; and if he will make a statement on the matter.
The decision to refuse 1990 EC suckler cow scheme grants to the person named and to debar him from the 1991 EC suckler cow scheme is being upheld as my Department are not satisfied that he maintained on his holding the number of suckler cows on which he applied for grants for six months from the date of lodgment of his application, as required under the terms and conditions of that scheme.
127 Mr. J. Higgins asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food the reason for the delay in the payment of the suckler cow grant to a person (details supplied) in County Mayo.
These applicants will be paid their grants under the 1990 and 1991 suckler cow premium schemes for small-scale milk producers shortly.
128 Mr. Sheehan asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food when a person (details supplied) in County Cork will receive payment of his farm installation grant as all relevant documentation was lodged with his Department some time ago.
It is hoped to have this grant paid within the next two to three weeks.
