I propose to take Questions Nos. 36 and 45 together.
I have not yet received the report to which Deputy Owen is referring.
In this regard, I understand that Eolas will not be in a position to finalise their report in the matter until such time as they have received and considered the views of the St. Margaret's Community Council on this issue.
There is already legislation to control noise emission from aircraft. This includes the Air Navigation (Noise Certification and Limitation) Order, 1984 (S.I. No. 13 of 1984); the European Communities (Restriction of Aeroplane Operations) Regulations, 1984 (S.I. No. 14 of 1984); the European Communities (Registration of Aeroplanes) Regulations, 1984 (S.I. No. 16 of 1984) and the European Communities (Restriction of Aeroplane Operations) Regulations, 1990 (S.I. No. 235 of 1990).
The legislation is aimed at limiting and reducing noise pollution at airports within the State and is in accordance with EC and international requirements.
In addition to the above, a further EC Directive on limiting the operation of noisy aircraft is expected to be passed shortly by the EC Council and will be implemented by Ireland.
