Vol. 412 No. 5

Written Answers. - School Security.

Pat Rabbitte

Ceist:

206 Mr. Rabbitte asked the Minister for Education if her attention has been drawn to the urgent need to have a school (details supplied) in Clondalkin, Dublin 22, properly secured and protected; if, in particular, she will outline if there are any plans to have suitable perimeter fencing erected with appropriate boundary treatment having regard to the manner in which the school grounds are being encroached on at will.

I am aware of the situation in relation to the school in Clondalkin, Dublin 22, referred to by the Deputy and am prepared to grant aid the provision of suitable fencing to combat vandalism.

My Department are in communication with the school authorities on the question of the exact boundaries of the school. When this has been clarified the necessary technical arrangements for the works will be put in hands.
