46 Mr. McCartan asked the Minister for Finance when a monthly tax rebate will be made to a person (details supplied) in Dublin 13; if his attention has been drawn to the fact that payments have been suspended by reason of a shortage of staff and a staff work to rule; if his attention has further been drawn to the hardship being imposed on this person as a result; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

I have been advised by the Revenue Commissioners that the area in the tax office dealing with the taxpayer's affairs is the subject of industrial action due to the non-replacement of a member of staff. Efforts are being made to resolve the matter and the taxpayer's claim will then be dealt with as soon as possible.
