72 Mr. Creed asked the Minister for Health if his attention has been drawn to the consequences of Statutory Instrument No. 200 of 1991 on disabled person's maintenance allowance recipients and, in particular, its consequences on a person (details supplied) in County Cork.
I am currently reviewing the position of couples who prior to 21 July 1991 were in receipt of disabled person's maintenance allowance at a rate higher than that permissible under the regulations which came into effect on that date. In the meantime health boards have been requested that there be no reduction in the amount of disabled person's maintenance allowance paid to such couples. Accordingly, there has been no reduction in the amount of disabled person's maintenance allowance payable to the person in question.
