Ceist:

159 Mr. Durkan asked the Minister for Health if favourable consideration will be given to the award of a grant from the proceeds of the national lottery to the north Kildare branch of the Irish Wheelchair Association; if her attention has been drawn to the tremendous work carried out by this body; if such moneys are likely to be made available in 1992; and if she will make a statement on the matter.

Earlier this year the Irish Wheelchair Association were given a grant of £75,000 from the Health allocation of national lottery funds. I am well aware of the valuable work being carried out by local branches of the Irish Wheelchair Association.

Applications for grants to local branches of the association should be addressed to the appropriate health board — in this instance the Eastern Health Board.
