21 Mr. Quinn asked the Minister for Justice if he will outline the Government Department which will have responsibility for the drafting of the White Paper on marital breakdown; whether it is proposed to reconvene the Oireachtas Committee on marital breakdown; and if he will make a statement on the matter.
The White Paper on marital breakdown is being prepared in my Department in consultation with other Departments and will be published shortly.
The question of reconvening the Oireachtas Committee on marital breakdown is one which could be discussed between the Whips but I believe that such discussions would be clearly premature in advance of publication of the White Paper.
