Adjournment Debate Matters.

The Ceann Comhairle wishes to advise the House of the following matters in respect of which notice has been given to him under Standing Order 20 (3) (a) and the name of the Member in each case: (1) Deputy Jim Mitchell, if the Minister for Justice will outline the steps he proposes to take to bring under control the outbreak of juvenile vandalism in west Dublin suburbs and the steps he proposes to take to protect the gardaí and other officers of the State in the performance of their duty; (2) Deputy Cotter, the failure of the North Eastern Health Board to make permanent appointments at Monaghan General Hospital and the public concern resulting from it; (3) Deputy G. Reynolds, whether the Minister for Finance has any immediate plans to decentralise a Department office to Carrick-on-Shannon, County Leitrim, under the Government's decentralisation scheme; (4) Deputy M. Barrett, the illegal parking of motor vehicles on the streets in Dublin and the situation where individuals direct motorists to park illegally; (5) Deputy R. Bruton, the failure to agree satisfactory terms of employment with consultant orthodontists which is now jeopardising the orthodontic service; (6) Deputy Boylan, whether there are any proposals in relation to the liability of farmers for the safety of people engaged in hunting on their lands or crossing their lands for access to waterways; (7) Deputy Rabbitte, the implications of the recent findings of the Labour Relations Commission for the re-entry of women into the Civil Service, (8) Deputy McCartan, the lack of food and water supply to the 80 Garda participating in United Nations operations in Angola; (9) Deputy Deenihan, the serious level of juvenile violence at Neilstown, Moorefield and St. Ronan's in the Clondalkin area; (10) Deputy Dr. Lee, the storage in Dublin Port, and the transport through Dublin and its immediate environs, of highly toxic and dangerous chemical substances in view of the recent and tragic collision of the m.v. Kilkenny and the m.v. Hasselwerder; (11) Deputy Yates, the position in relation to the availability of helicopter marine rescue services on the east coast during night hours of darkness; and (12) Deputy Ahearn, the urgent need for funding to establish a residential and activity centre in Clonmel for severely handicapped young people.

The Ceann Comhairle has selected for discussion the matters raised by Deputies Yates, J. Mitchell and McCartan.
