Adjournment Debate Matters.

I wish to advise the House of the following matters in respect of which notice has been given to me under Standing Order 20 (3) (a) and the name of the Member in each case: (1) Deputy Pat Lee — The storage in Dublin Port, and the transport through Dublin and its immediate environs, of highly toxic and dangerous chemical substances; (2) Deputy Gay Mitchell —Whether the Minister for the Environment will introduce a housing sales scheme for local authority tenants since such tenants in Dublin have not been in a position to apply to purchase their houses since 1988; (3) Deputy Jim Mitchell — Whether the Minister for the Environment will use the powers available to him to allow further time to Cork Corporation to consider their Estimates for 1992; (4) Deputy Therese Ahearn — The urgent need for funding to establish a residential and activity centre in Clonmel for severely handicapped young people; (5) Deputy Tony Gregory — The number of applications which any individual can make for the proposed draw for the 100 new taxi licences for Dublin; (6) Deputy Eric Byrne — The need for the Dublin dental hospital to be moved to a new building for fire safety reasons and to meet the demands of the public; (7) Deputy Roger Garland — The scandalous waste of public money in the recent refurbishment of the offices of the Minister for Defence which cost over £100,000 in spite of very recent renovations carried out to these offices; (8) Deputy Pat Rabbitte — The application of the Worker Protection (Regular Part-Time Employees) Act, 1990, as regards people on social employment schemes; and (9) Deputy Eamon Gilmore — The basis on which the domestic rate support grant is calculated for Dún Laoghaire Corporation, and the serious financial situation which now confronts Dún Laoghaire Borough Council.

I have selected for discussion the matters raised by the following Deputies: (1) Deputy Pat Lee; (2) Deputy Eamon Gilmore; (3) Deputy Roger Garland.
