Ceist:130 Mr. Callely asked the Minister for Justice if he has any proposals for the decriminalisation of suicide; and if he has received any submissions on this matter.
Written Answers. - Decriminalisation of Suicide.
As I indicated in the Seanad on 27 November last, I hope to be in a position to introduce a criminal law Bill very shortly. This Bill, as well as providing from the abolition of the offence of suicide and making the necessary ancillary changes, will also abolish the distinction between felonies and misdemeanours in the criminal law.
I have not received any submissions in the matter.
