Ceist:182 Mr. Creed asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food when he expects a decision on his representations to the EC Commissioner with regard to the regulations governing the beef premium scheme.

We have received an initial response from the Commission Services indicating that it is not intended to adjust the regulations at this stage but that changes will be considered in the context of the revised premium scheme which is being discussed as part of the Common Agricultural Policy reform negotiations. I expect that a meeting between the Commission Services and my Department will be arranged shortly to progress the matter further.
