Vol. 415 No. 1

Written Answers. - County Manager's Emergency Powers.

Roger T. Garland

Ceist:

323 Mr. Garland asked the Minister for the Environment whether there are any emergency powers vested in county managers and, if so, if he will give details of (a) these powers (b) the areas under which these powers can be exercised and (c) the code of practice, if any, there is for these powers.

Local authorities have powers of an emergency nature relating to a wide range of matters and relevant executive functions are performed on their behalf by the city and county managers. If the Deputy indicates the particular matters he has in mind, I will endeavour to provide as much information as possible.
