Vol. 415 No. 1

Written Answers. - School Transport Scheme.

Tom Enright

Ceist:

443 Mr. Enright asked the Minister for Education if his attention has been drawn to the problems regarding school transport arrangements for pupils attending a school (details supplied) in County Offaly where at present children are being collected as early as 8.30 a.m. and not home until 4.30 p.m.; if he will investigate the possibility of providing a larger school bus to ensure that only one journey has to be made to bring the pupils to and from school; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

I am satisfied that the waiting/travelling time of the children using the school bus service to Shinrone national school is reasonable in the general context of the operation of the school transport scheme.
