Vol. 415 No. 1

Written Answers. - Dublin Water Sports Complex Project.

Jim Mitchell

Ceist:

124 Mr. J. Mitchell asked the Minister for the Marine if he has received a request from the Dublin Port and Docks Board seeking a harbour works order and a foreshore licence on the Tolka Estuary to facilitate the water sports complex which is being promoted by the Community Water Sports Group of the East Wall Residents' Association; if so, if he will (a) make the harbour works order (b) grant the foreshore licence and (c) outline the conditions, if any, attaching to either the order or the licence; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

I have received no request or application to date from Dublin Port and Docks Board for either a harbour works order or a foreshore licence in the Tolka Estuary to facilitate the water sports complex referred to by the Deputy.

If such an application is received it will be examined by my Department and a decision will be reached in accordance with the procedures laid down in the Harbours Act, 1946 or Foreshore Act, 1933.
