123 Mr. S. Barrett asked the Minister for Justice if his attention has been drawn to the fact that a person remanded to Mountjoy is brought to a District Court outside of the Dublin region to be further remanded; and if he has any plans to alter this arrangement so that cases can be heard in a court in the Dublin area.

The question of remand prisoners travelling for further remand to District Courts some distance from the prison where they are held is being examined in my Department. Any proposals I may have following this examination will be announced in the usual way.
