Vol. 415 No. 4

Written Answers. - Driving Test Result.

Theresa Ahearn

Ceist:

150 Mrs. T. Ahearn asked the Minister for the Environment the reason the driving test result sheet was changed in relation to a person (details supplied) in County Tipperary; if, in his opinion, sufficient information is given to unsuccessful applicants; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

There is no record in the Department of a driving test for the person named at the address given. Persons who fail tests are given a refusal notice which lists the aspects of the test performance which were not satisfactory and an information leaflet which gives guidance on the test. I am satisfied that this information, together with the Rules of the Road booklet, should enable such persons to prepare adequately for a further test.

Ceist:

151 Mrs. T. Ahearn asked the Minister for the Environment if he will outline the amount of money provided for public housing to (1) South Tipperary County Council, (2) Clonmel Corporation and (3) to the urban district councils of (a) Cashel, (b) Tipperary and (c) Carrick-on-Suir for each of the years 1986 to 1991; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

I take it that the question refers to the capital allocations for the construction of local authority dwellings.

I refer to the reply to Questions Nos. 151 and 152 of 26 February 1991 in relation to the years 1986 to 1990.

The final capital allocations for 1991 to housing authorities in County Tipperary (SR) were as follows:

Housing Authority

£

Tipperary (SR) County Council

636,000

Clonmel Corporation

238,000

Carrick-on-Suir Urban District Council

67,000

Cashel Urban District Council

78,000

Tipperary Urban District Council

81,000
