Ceisteanna — Questions Written Answers. - Chemical Emissions Health Risk.

Tony Gregory

Ceist:

28 Mr. Gregory asked the Minister for Health if, having regard to chemical emissions from a company (details supplied) and a submission (details supplied) from a local resident, she will arrange a survey of local general practitioners to establish whether there is any unusual increase in (a) cancer, (b) asthma, (c) epilepsy and (d) any other illness in the vicinity of the company.

I have made inquiries from the Eastern Health Board in relation to this matter. I am informed that on the basis of medical advice, it does not consider that a survey as suggested would be warranted. The situation will, however, continue to be monitored.
