The administration of the higher education grants scheme is statutorily entrusted to the local authorities.
It is understood from Limerick County Council, which is the relevant local authority in this case, that the person in question has been awarded one-quarter of the lecture fees grant for the 1991-92 academic year in accordance with the terms of the scheme.
