Ceist:45 Mr. Gregory asked the Minister for Defence if he will sympathetically consider the readmission of a person (details supplied) to the Defence Forces following his complete rehabilitation from a difficult illness.

I have been advised that the person referred to by the Deputy was discharged by purchase from the Permanent Defence Forces on 17 October 1989. If he now wishes to apply for re-enlistment he should be advised to report to the Recruiting Office, Cathal Brugha Barracks, Rathmines, Dublin 6, and bring his certificate of discharge so that his name may be placed on the waiting list. When vacancies are being filled, applicants are called for interview from the waiting lists. It is not possible at this stage to say when the next intake of recruits will take place.
