Vol. 415 No. 8

Written Answers. - County Kildare Hospital Admission Delay.

Bernard J. Durkan

Ceist:

280 Mr. Durkan asked the Minister for Health when a person (details supplied) in County Kildare will gain admission to hospital for the removal of cataracts; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

The admission of a patient to hospital is a matter for clinical decision by the consultant concerned and the hospital authority. I would suggest to the Deputy that, if the patient is concerned about his condition, he should return to his general practitioner who would be in the best position to stress the urgency of the case with the consultant involved.
