233 Mr. Ferris asked the Minister for Justice when the new Garda station in County Tipperary will be commissioned; if he will give details of the staffing levels which will apply; if the station will be accessible for wheelchairs; and if he will make a statement on the matter.
It is expected that the new Garda station in Tipperary town will be ready for occupation in mid-June 1992. A wheelchair ramp has been provided at the main entrance and a toilet for the disabled on the ground floor. The provision of the new Tipperary station will not involve any change in the manpower assigned to the subdistrict. The current Garda strength at Tipperary station is 26.
