Ceist:268 Mr. J. Higgins asked the Minister for Education if he is prepared to approve the appointment of a career guidance teacher for a school (details supplied) in County Sligo.

There is no provision for the appointment of an ex-quota guidance teacher in a school of this size.
It is, of course, open to the authorities of the school to appoint a guidance teacher to a fillable vacancy within quota in the school if they so wish.
