Vol. 416 No. 6

Written Answers. - County Leitrim River Drainage.

Matt Brennan

Ceist:

44 Mr. M. Brennan asked the Minister for Finance if he will give details of (1) the amount of money which has been spent to date on the drainage of the Bonet River, County Leitrim and (2) the amount of money that was allocated for the drainage of this river.

A total of some £7 million has been allocated and expended to date in carrying out the scheduled works of the Bonet catchment drainage scheme. Works were suspended in January 1992 so that the only remaining expenditure to be incurred will be in respect of any additional fishery rehabilitation works which might arise and in the settlement of outstanding compensation claims which would be impossible to accurately assess at this stage.
