92 Mr. Durkan asked the Minister for Industry and Commerce if the manner in which motor car and motor cycle insurance is provided for and operated in this country at present complies with EC competition rules; if not, if he will outline the measures if any, he intends to take; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

I am not aware of any incompatibility of motor insurance arrangements in this country with EC competition rules. I do not have any responsibility in the enforcement of these rules; jurisdiction in that matter lies with the courts and the EC Commission.
