Ceist:204 Mr. J. Higgins asked the Minister for Health if any increase has been granted in the boarding out allowance in respect of the scheme operated by the Western Health Board for geriatric patients.
Written Answers. - Boarding Out Allowance.
The Western Health Board pay a grant of £25 per person per week in respect of each person boarded out. In addition, it is recommended by the health board that the person being boarded out pays the carer half the old age pension per week. At the moment, it is a matter for the Western Health Board to decide whether these amounts should be increased.
