Ceist:

212 Mr. Ferris asked the Minister for Health if, in regard to his stated intention of having a charter of rights for patients, he will investigate the circumstances relating to the admission of a patient to the casualty department of a regional hospital (details supplied) at 8.30 p.m. approximately on Monday, 2 March 1992; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

I understand that the individual was assessed and that he refused to follow the medical advice given. If the person's medical condition merits further attention, the hospital will render every assistance appropriate.
