Vol. 417 No. 1

Written Answers. - Group Water Schemes.

P. J. Sheehan

Ceist:

248 Mr. Sheehan asked the Minister for the Environment when his Department will allocate finance and issue approval for the commencement of work on the Caheragh/Drimoleague group water scheme, County Cork.

Jim O'Keeffe

Ceist:

249 Mr. J. O'Keeffe asked the Minister for the Environment if his attention has been drawn to the urgent need to have the group water scheme at Caheragh/Drimoleague completed; if so, the reason he has not given the approval to date; if he will now confirm that the scheme can go ahead; and if not, when he expects it can do so.

I propose to take Questions Nos. 248 and 249 together.

Having regard to the existing level of commitments under the group water scheme programme, I am not in a position to indicate when there will be a decision on the Caheragh/Drimoleague scheme.

P. J. Sheehan

Ceist:

250 Mr. Sheehan asked the Minister for the Environment when his Department will allocate finance and issue approval for the commencement of work on the Ardgroomé/Inward Béara group water scheme, County Cork.

My Department are awaiting Cork County Council's formal approval of the group's design. When this is received the proposal will be considered further.

Michael Moynihan

Ceist:

251 Mr. Moynihan asked the Minister for the Environment if he will outline the amount of money provided in the 1992 budget for group water scheme development in County Kerry.

Group water scheme grants are allocated nationally on a project by project basis. It is not prossible at this stage to indicate what the overall 1992 provision for County Kerry will be.
