278 Mr. Callely asked the Minister for the Environment if the Building Control Act, 1990 will come into effect in every local authority area on 1 June 1992; if any local authority have expressed concern over the introduction of the new Act, and if he will make a statement on the matter.

The Building Control Act, 1990 and the regulations made under the Act will be operational in all local authority areas with effect from 1 June 1992. I have received no submissions from local authorities expressing concern at this.
