52 Mr. Spring asked the Minister for Justice if he will outline the additional security arrangements, if any, made by the Government in the aftermath of the murder of eight workers in County Tyrone; and if he will make a statement on the matter.
The security arrangements to be made in any given instance are matters for determination by the Garda authorities on the basis of their professional judgment. It has never been the practice for Ministers for Justice to make statements about security arrangements and it would be counterproductive for reasons which are obvious to outline specific additional security arrangements made by the Garda authorities in response to a particular incident.
