118 Mr. Durkan asked the Minister for Finance when an updated tax free allowance will be forwarded and refund of income tax paid will be made to a person (details supplied) in County Kildare as promised at a meeting with the inspector in May 1991; and if he will make a statement on the matter.
I have been advised by the Revenue Commissioners that at a meeting between the taxpayer and the inspector of taxes on 10 June 1991 the inspector agreed concessionally to allow relief of £520 for the year 1991-92 in respect of loan interest paid.
An amended certificate of tax-free allowances issued on 13 June 1991. Details of the amended certificate also issued to Kildare County Council. Any refund due to the taxpayer should have been made by his employer.
