Ceist:76 Mr. Cotter asked the Minister for the Environment if he has received an application for grant aid for the development of a new water source for Monaghan Urban District Council; if so, if he will give the current status of the application; and if he will make a statement on the matter.
I propose to take Questions Nos. 20 and 76 together.
Tenders for the development of production bores to establish the capacity of the proposed source of the Monaghan water supply augmentation scheme are under consideration in my Department. Having regard to the existing level of commitments under the water and sanitary services programme, I am not in a position to indicate when there will be a decision on this scheme.
