Ceist:65 Mr. McCormack asked the Minister for Defence if he will direct the military authorities to proceed to establish a UN school here.
I propose to take Questions Nos. 29 and 65 together.
I am advised that the military authorities do not consider that there is a requirement to establish a UN school for the Permanent Defence Forces. All military personnel selected for service with UN missions undergo a rigorous programme of training designed to enable them to operate successfully during their tour of duty and to provide for their protection.
