The 52 per cent increase in the voted capital services in 1992 for CERT is to provide for the completion of building work on CERT's new national training centre and headquarters at Amiens Street, Dublin, which commenced in June 1991.
The building will allow CERT to centralise all Dublin-based services and will replace the agency's current headquarters at Lansdowne Road and its two Dublin training centres at Roebuck Road and East Wall Road.
During construction of the building a total of 40 people have been employed, in a temporary capacity.
Given that the new building serves to centralise existing CERT services and facilities, additional permanent jobs will not be created as a result of the development. The new arrangements will, however, permit a better delivery of services.
