Ceist:63 Dr. G. FitzGerald asked the Minister for Education when a person (details supplied) in Dublin 6 can expect a decision on his application for a higher education grant which he made in July 1991.

The case in question has been referred to my Department by the local authority for clarification as to the applicant's entitlements under the higher education grants scheme.
This case together with a number of similar cases has raised a general policy issue and this is being considered at present. It is hoped to convey a decision to the local authority in the near future and I shall inform the Deputy of the outcome.
