Vol. 419 No. 5

Written Answers. - Eastern By-pass Project.

Seán Ryan

Ceist:

32 Mr. Ryan asked the Minister for the Environment if he will outline who will bear the costs of the consultants' report on the eastern by-pass/port relief road if it is decided not to proceed with the project; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

In 1990, Dublin Corporation, with my Department's approval, commissioned a feasibility study and an environmental impact study for an Eastern By-Pass/Port Access route. These studies, which are being carried out simultaneously, are being funded from road grants allocated by my Department. The funding is not dependent on the outcome of the studies.
