Ceist:152 Mr. E. O'Keeffe asked the Minister for Education if he will make grant aid available to a mature student (details supplied) in County Cork.

The local authorities are the bodies statutorily entrusted with the administration of the Higher Education Grants Scheme.
It is understood from Cork County Council, which is the relevant body in this case that is has no record of a higher education grant application from the person in question.
Details of the 1992 grants scheme, which will make special provision for mature students, will be available from the local authorities shortly.
