The Worker Protection (Regular Part-Time Employees) Act, which came into effect in 1991 extends the benefits of a range of protective legislation to regular part-time employees. My Department is currently drafting guidelines which will assist school managers and Vocational Educational Committees in relation to their obligations under the Act. These guidelines will be issued as soon as possible.
