Ceist:

69 Mr. Callely asked the Minister for Health if he will outline the percentage of the population who were covered by medical cards for 1991; and if he will give comparative percentages for the years (a) 1976, (b) 1981 and (c) 1986.

The percentage of the population covered by medical cards in the years in question is as follows: 1976, 37.64 per cent; 1981, 35.86 per cent; 1986, 37.45 per cent; 1991, 34.95 per cent.
