The ratio of Gardaí to population in Ireland, based on the 1991 Census of Population, is 1.320.
A list of the Garda Stations in County Kildare is set out in the following table. There are one Chief Superintendent, two Superintendents, two Inspectors, 32 Sergeants, and 146 Gardaí assigned to the stations in question. This, however, is not a full reflection of the policing arrangement for the country as the boundaries for Garda Divisions do not coincide with the county boundaries. Parts of County Kildare are policed from Lucan in the Dublin Metropolitan Area and Enfield in County Meath.
The population of the town in which the stations are located, in so far as it is available, is contained in the 1991 Census.
