Vol. 423 No. 1

Written Answers. - Hospital Waste Incinerator.

Roger T. Garland

Ceist:

268 Mr. Garland asked the Minister for Health if he will confirm that (1) the central hospital waste incinerator planned for St. James Hospital, Dublin 8 is now to be located in County Limerick, and (2) tenders have been requested for this project.

The proposal to site a central incinerator for the disposal of hospital waste from the Dublin area at St. James's Hospital will not be implemented. Neither my Department nor the Mid-Western Health Board has any plans to locate a central hospital waste incinerator in County Limerick and I can confirm that no tenders for such a project have been invited by the board or by any other health agency.
