Written Answers. - Green Paper on Mental Health.
As the Deputy is no doubt aware I launched a Green Paper on Mental Health last June on the development of services for the mentally ill and new mental health legislation. The Green Paper has been circulated widely to all interested parties who have been requested to furnish submissions on new mental health legislation before 1 October 1992.
Following consideration of all submissions on the Green Paper with the aim of achieving a broad consensus on a legal framework to facilitate development of a modern psychiatric service it is my intention to put forward proposals to Government for new mental health legislation.
